2867507 - Purchase Order is not Created Automatically from Purchase Request

Symptom

It was expected that the Purchase Order would be automatically created after the Purchase Request.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Purchase Requests and Orders work center.
  2. Go to Purchase Requests view.
  3. Search for ABC (ABC is the Request's ID). 
  4. Click in Edit button.
  5. Click in View All button. 
  6. Navigate to Document Flow tab

The Purchase Order was not created automatically from the Purchase Request.

Cause

Here is the summary of the possible causes for this scenario:

Cause 1: The question in Business Configuration "Do you want purchase orders to be created automatically from purchase requests?" is currently not scoped.

Cause 2: The Purchase Request was manually created OR it was created via WebService.

Resolution

Here is the summary of the resolutions for the causes mentioned previously for this scenario:

Resolution 1: The mentioned question in Cause 1 has to be scoped. Plus the user has to define default rules in the Business Configuration activity "Automatic Creation of Purchase Orders".

Resolution 2: Automatic creation of Purchase Orders is only supported for Purchase Requests originated from Shopping Carts, Project Purchase Requests, Purchase Proposal or Service Order.
