2869211 - Accessing attachments in ABAP system failed due to hostname cannot be resolved

Symptom

Accessing a SAPoffice attachments in an ABAP system failed.
In application log, the following error was found.

Repository <repository name> cannot be addressed from the frontend
Message No. CMS066

Connect Error: NiHostToAddr <hostname> error: NIEHOST_UNKNOWN
Message No. 04100

Environment

SAP Netweaver 7.0 and higher.
