2869722 - Completion record not showing when reporting from Learning Item Progress but is included when datasource is Learning Item Assignment and History - ORD/ Report - Canvas

Symptom

  1. A Detailed Reporting - Live Data query created from Learning > Item Progress is not showing all records with a Completed status. When a similar query is created with Learning Item Assignment and History as source, all items completed by the user are included in the result.
  2. Deleted completions show up in the report when data is seleted from Learning Item Assignment and history, but same entries do not show up when querying Item Progress.

Resolution

The purpose of the Learning Item Assignment and History is to check how learning items have been assigned and completed.

Learning Item Progress only reports on items that are currently assigned to the user.

If the user unregistred for the item along the way and an Admin user sets the completion status of the course on their behalf, it will not show up in Item Progress -  but it will from Learning Item Assignment and history.

Similarly, if completion were inserted and later removed by admins, they will still show up from Learning Item Assignment and history because they are stored in PH table. Switch data source to Item Progress for current status.
