Symptom
The internal comment maintained at the Line Item level in Scrapping is not displayed in the Goods and Activity Confirmation (GAC).
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Internal Logistics work center.
- Go to the Common Tasks view and select Scrapping.
- Enter the relevant Site ID and then the relevant Product ID.
- Enter the relevant Source Logistics Area ID and click the Next button.
- Go to the Line Items tab and select the Notes sub-tab. Enter an internal Comment.
- Enter the Quantity to be scrapped.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Finish button to create the Goods and Activity Confirmation.
- Open the created Confirmation ID. You can see that the Internal Comment maintained is not displayed in the Notes column (you may have to personalize the view to show the Notes column).
Cause
The issue with notes in factsheet items is that they are not displayed directly (as a note can have any number of characters and lines in it).
Instead, what we have is an icon on the item - which gets enabled if a note is maintained against it – and upon pressing this icon, the OIF (Object Instance Floorplan) of the document opens, from where the notes can be read.
However, as GAC does not have an OIF, this approach cannot be followed. This is a Limitation.
To display the internal comments, kindly follow the steps under Resolution below.
Resolution
- Navigate to the Internal Logistics work center.
- Go to Common Tasks and select 'Display/Reverse Goods and Activity Confirmations'.
- Search and select the relevant Confirmation ID.
- Select the Line Items tab and the Notes sub-tab and here you can see the Internal Comment displayed.
