Symptom
The SAP Cloud Connector (SCC) stops processing tunnel traffic and generates an error related to insufficient Java heap memory. Within SCC main trace (ljs_trace.log / scc_core.trc) file, following error is observed:
#ERROR#com.sap.core.connectivity.tunnel.core.handlers.TunnelErrorHandler#notificationclient-XX-X# #Unexpected problem during tunnel processing in channel [id: 0xYYYYYYYY, L:/X.X.X.X:XXXXX - R:connectivitynotification.us2.hana.ondemand.com/xx.xx.xxx.xxx:xxx]; Reason: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space |
As a result, tunnel communication between SAP BTP and on-premise systems may become unstable or stop working until the SAP Cloud Connector is restarted.
