2871128 - Error saving position "???Exception thrown in rules execution???" - Employee Central

When you try to save a position change the following error appear:

"???Exception thrown in rules execution???"

• Metadata Framework

1. Go to Position Org Chart/Manage Position/Manage Data
2. Click on Make Correction or Insert New Record
3. Make any change
4. Try to save it

Result: ???Execution thrown in rules execution???

Possible cause is that there is a rule been referenced in the Position object definition structure which does not exist in the system anymore. To confirm the cause please follow below steps:

1. Go to Check Tool
2. Choose "MDF Extension Center" as Application
3. Click on Run 3 Checks
4. Expand MDF Extension Center
5. Expand Object Level Issues
6. Click to see the errors on Valid rules assigned to MDF Objects

Result: [rule internalCode] The rule is used for the event X in the object Position.     This rule does not exist

Create a ticket for Support Engineers to run a script and remove the rule reference.
