2871261 - "Error 500 (An error occurred, we could not retrieve the job requisition's data)" when trying to edit or view Job Posting data - Recruiting Posting

Symptom

When the user tries to view or edit the job posting data from Recruiting Management end or Recruiting Posting environment, the system throws an error 500.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Posting (RPO)
  • SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management (RCM)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Recruiting
  2. Select the requisition, then go to Job Postings tab
  3. Try to edit the posting to the Job Board
  4. Receive an "Error 500 (An error occurred, we could not retrieve the job requisition's data)"

The same happens when trying to edit directly from Recruiting Posting environment.

Cause

The user trying to perform those changes doesn't have the required permission to use Recruiting Posting.

Resolution

There are 2 different roles to access Recruiting Posting, as an Admin and as a Recruiter. A single user could be both.

Admin Permission (one permission)

  1. Go to "Admin Center" --> "Manage Permission Roles" --> Select "Admin" role --> Permission --> “Administrator Permissions” --> "Manage Recruiting" --> Check “Manage Recruiting Posting”
  2. Save change.

This permission will allow any administrator role to manage all Recruiting Posting Settings: RCM users associations, Posting Profiles, Job Boards and field mappings.
The user will then have access to the button "Manage Recruiting Posting" from Recruiting Management (After the user synchronization runs).

Recruiter Permission (one permission)

  1. Go to "Admin Center"--> "Manage Permission Roles"--> Select "Admin" role --> Permission --> “User Permissions” --> "Recruiting Permissions" --> Check “Recruiting Posting Permission”
  2. Save changes.

Therefore, a User who is a Recruiting Posting Admin and a Recruiter at the same time should have 3 permissions.
