Symptom
You are creating a new calculated key figure, but after maintaining the formula you receive the error message:
Key figure ABC is not correctly defined (ABC stands for the name of your key figure).
Environment
- SAP Cloud for Customer
- SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the work center Business Analytics and select the view Design Key Figures.
- Click New.
- In step 2, enter a key figure name, a data source and select the type Calculated Key Figure.
- Click Next.
- In step 2, enter your formula.
- Click Next.
You receive the error mentioned above.
Cause
The formula is incorrect. Several causes are possible. One cause would be if you are setting up a calculation using other key figures and they do not have the same unit (or one of them has a unit of measure and the other one does not).
Resolution
Correct the formula. In our example, if one used key figure has a unit, remove it by adding NODIM to the formula.
You will find the NODIM option under the Data tab in step 2.
