2873650 - Preview in Chrome Does Not Show Asian Fonts

Symptom

During the preview of a document which contains Asian fonts (e.g. AdobeSongStd) in Chrome, the text vanishes.

Environment

  • SAP Cloud for Customer
  • SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

This can happen for all business documents which contain Asian fonts for the Chrome browser during preview.

Cause

This is a Google Chrome browser issue. This is a browser limitation.

Resolution

You can use following workarounds:

  • Use a different browser such as: Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox.
  • Try another Chrome PDF viewer extension.
