2874868 - DB6: SQL2036N error during a restore operation (including system refresh with SWPM)

Symptom

  1. During a system refresh performed using backup restore with SWPM and when prompted to run the restore command by SWPM as per the example below
    db2 restore database <SID> from <backup_filepath> TAKEN AT <backup_timestamp>, the following error is returned.
    SQL2036N The path for the file, named pipe, or device"path" is not valid.
  2. During a restore operation, the following errors are preventing the restore from commencing.
