Symptom
You are trying to create a relative selection and when you click to save it, you can see the following error message: 'The application running deliberately caused an abort with short dump. (termination: RABAX_STATE)'
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Business Analytics work center.
- Go to the view Common Tasks.
- Select Design Relative Selections.
- Click on New and select Dynamic Values.
- Select 'Date' as a Type.
- Select 'Any Selection' as Value Entry.
- Click on Add.
- Design as following for an example:
From Last 12 Month To Next 6 Month
- Click on Ok.
You can see the error message 'The application running deliberately caused an abort with short dump. (termination: RABAX_STATE)'.
Cause
It occurs because the 'Last' option has a meaning of end/final. Hence, 'Last 12 Month', without any shift selected, would actually be interpreted as 'January - December, 9999' (Last 12 Months from the calendar) for an example. Hence, the 'Last' option has a meaning of end while 'Previous' has a meaning of going back.
Resolution
Given the differences in meaning between 'Last' and 'Previous' options, in order to retrieve the records for the time that have passed, you can use 'Previous' instead 'Last'.
