2877124 - Error 3474 / 3478 on restart after ASE was stopped when REORG REBUILD running - SAP ASE 16.0

Symptom

  • ASE crashes or is shutdown with nowait or killed when REORG REBUILD is running.
  • On restart, the ASE errorlog contains one or more of either of these errors:

Error: 3474, Severity: 21, State: 1
During redo the page timestamp value is less than old timestamp from log. Page #=<>, object id = <>, page timestamp=<>. Log old timestamp=<>. Log record marker = (<>, <>). 

Error: 3478, Severity: 21, State: 1
During undo the page timestamp value is less than new timestamp from log. Page #=<>, object id = <>, page timestamp=<>. Log new timestamp=<>. Log record marker = (<>, <>).

  •  Same issue can be found in KBA 2404095 which mentions SAP CR 804157, but you are running on an ASE version where SAP CR 804157 is fixed.
