2877451 - logon BW server failed when Group/Server Selection is selected

Symptom

 Warning message "Single Sign On failed. Log on manually." is displayed when logon BW server in AO.

Environment

  • SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office 2.7
  • SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office 2.8

Reproducing the Issue

  1. The connection to BW server is created in SAP GUI with Group/Server Selection is selected.

  2. Secure Network Communication(Single Sign On) is enabled.

  3. Logon BW server in AO with "Insert Data Source" or "Open workbook from the SAP Business Warehouse Platform".
  4. Warning message "Single Sign On failed. Log on manually." is displayed.
  5. Change "Log Severity" to "Support" and check the trace file - AO_Trace_xxxxx.glf as per Note 1906657, it contains below error information:

                         LOCATION SAP-Gateway on host
                         <Gateway> /
                         sapgw00
                         ERROR reject connection request from P39351:EXCEL to
                         <IP>:<PORT>

Cause

 The gateway doesn't allow the RFC connection from P39351:EXCEL to be connected, due to the settings in prxy_info.

Resolution

  1. Follow Note 910918 and set the correct entry in the proxyinfo file.
  2. Reload the new proxy entry with the action below.
    SMGW > Goto > Expert functions > External Security > Reread (local).
