2878299 - SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit: Serial number error for the Migration Object Equipment (SIF_EQUIPMENT)

Symptom

You are using the Migration Cockpit staging approach to migrate Equipment. During the simulation step you are getting the error message IS 218:

Serial number YY : Material XX requires synchronous equipment numbers.

Where XX is the Material number and YY is the serial number.
