Symptom
- Personal Variants are not loaded as dependency while promoting the document from one environment to another.
- No option to promote user/personal/private variant to another environment along with documents.
- Prompt variants dont work in Web Intelligence Rich Client standalone Mode
- You must create, run, and then save the document to the CMS to see the prompt variant options.
- When you create personal or public prompt variants, they can be only applied to the document in which they have been created on.
- When you delete a prompt variant, it is completely removed from the document. It can't be recovered.
- A Personal Variant object, stored in the CMS must be accessible only by the user owner itself and nobody else , Even an administrator should not have “delete/view/edit” rights to a personal Variant if administrator is not the owner.
About Variant : - BI Variant was a new feature introduced in BI 4.1 SP6.
- If a Web Intelligence Document contains many prompts and/or large list of values, you can save your frequent answers as a BI Variant in the Prompts dialog box. Later, you can reuse this prompt variant to automatically answer the same prompts.
