2879991 - Timeslice error in lock_address() with stack trace - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • The housekeeper garbage collector (HKGC) process is unexpectedly terminated.
  • The ASE errorlog contains a timeslice error in the module lock_address() with a stack trace:

timeslice -1001, current process infected at 0x164ac07 (lock_address+0x387)

  • The stack trace include modules such as:  

bt__lockprevpg
bt__pgdealloc
bt__shrinkleaf
bt__shrink
bt_gccommon_hkreorg
hkgc__processindexpg
hkgc__processelem
hkgc_garbagecollect

  • The HKGC process re-started successfully.
