2880427 - How to add missing tax number categories of business partner in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • Certain tax number categories of business partner are missing in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
  • The error "Tax number category XXX does not exist in Customizing" error is encountered when entering a Tax number category is raised in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
  • The error "Tax number category XXX does not exist in TFKTAXNUMTYPE table Message no. FKBPTAX015" is raised in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. A Tax Category is added to the Business Partner such as FR3.
  2. The system raises the error "Tax number category XXX does not exist in Customizing" Message no. FKBPTAX015.

Resolution

To keep systems legally compliant SAP provides standard tax types which can be used by our customers and they are available in SAP Note 775919 - Missing tax number categories of business partner. If a tax category available in SAP Note 775919 is missing from the system, it can be added by following these steps.

  1. Open App Manage Your Solution.
  2. Select "Configure Your Solution".
  3. Search for the SSCUI 102415 - Maintain Tax Number Categories.
  4. Maintain the missing tax category as mentioned in SAP Note 775919. For e.g.: FR3    France: TIN Number.

N.B. If the tax number to be added in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition is not included in SAP Note 775919 and there is a valid legal requirement, please open a case with SAP in the CA-GTF-CSC component to request that SAP include it and update it in SAP note 775919. In this case, please provide a URL Link for the legal requirement from the relevant government organization.
