2880588 - Error 691 on sysgams when upgrading server from 12.5.4 to 16.0 - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • After loading a ASE 12.5.4 database into ASE 16.0, the "online database" command fails with error 691:

Msg 691, Level 20, State 1:
Server 'ASE', Line 1:
Encountered invalid logical page '0' while accessing database 'db1' (4), object 'sysgams' (14), index 'sysgams' (0), partition 'sysgams_14' (14).
This is an internal system error. Please contact SAP Technical Support.

Msg 3445, Level 18, State 1:
Server 'ASE', Line 1:
ASE could not bring database 'DB1' online.
