2881024 - Position Vacant / To Be Hired status is not correct after Termination While Using Transition Periods

Symptom

Customer is using Transition Period or Multiple Incumbent Allowed is set to YES. In this case, when an employee is terminated and although there is another employee on the Position either due to Transition Period or Multiple Incumbent Allowed is set to YES,  the Position Vacant / To Be Hired status sets to YES

Environment

  • SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Position Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Employee A is terminated on November 1st, 2019 for the termination date December 1st, 2019.
  2. On the 2nd of November employee B is assigned to the same position (where a transition period is defined). As of this date, the position is not 'to be hired' as the previous incumbent is still assigned.
  3. However, after the termination date, the position is 'to be hired' due to the termination action, although this position is actually already re-staffed.

Cause

This is currently Expected Behavior. It is currently not possible to update the 'to be hired' status to FALSE / NO, if a person is terminated in future and the 'successor' gets assigned to the same position BEFORE the other incumbent is leaving.
