2882044 - Error Message: 'Profit Center PQR is not Valid for Company ZZZ on DD.MM.YYYY' When Uploading Plan Data for Expenses and Income Statement

You are uploading a new plan data for expenses and income statement, however you receive an error message:

Profit Center PQR is not valid for company ZZZ on DD.MM.YYYY

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to the Planning View.
3. Click New >Plan Version from Microsoft Excel.
4. Select New Expense and Income Statement Plan.
5. Click on Download and Open the template in Microsoft Excel.
6. You need to logon to SAP Business ByDesign and provide the Log On details.
7. Upload the file via Save data to in the Excel add-in, you receive the below error message:

Profit Center PQR is not valid for company ZZZ on DD.MM.YYYY (Ex:26.11.2019)

You can check the Profit Center validity in the below steps:

1. Go to the Organizational Management work center.
2. Go to the Org Structures view.
3. Click on Edit tab.
4. Find the Profit Center PQR (PQR represents the Profit Center name).
5. Select Profit Center and go to Timelines tab.
6. Profit Center is showing the correct validity (Ex: 12.06.2019) and which is valid at the time of uploading plan data.

As per the system design and following checks are performed while the checking validity of Profit Center:

1. System checks for the last day of first period based on Company, Set of books, Fiscal year, Fiscal year variant and Fiscal period.
2. If the last day of first period is not found in the system, then it takes Today's date.

For Example:

Company: ZZZ (ZZZ represents the Company name)
Fiscal Year: 2019
Set of books: 123(123 represents the Set of books name)
Accounting Period: 001
Last day of period is 30.04.2019

Profit Center is not valid as of 30.04.2019 and validity is maintianed from 12.06.2019 and hence, system was not able to find the Profit center.

You need to maintain the correct validity of the profit centers as per fiscal year YYYY for company ZZZ to upload the Plan data.

You can maintain as per the below steps:

1. Go to the Organizational Management work center.
2. Go to the Org Structures view.
3. Click on Edit tab.
4. Find the Profit Center PQR (PQR represents the Profit Center name).
5. Select Profit Center and choose Timelines tab.
6. Maintain the validity from DD.MM.YYYY(ex: 30.04.2019).

Now you are able to upload the Plan data without any error.
