2882668 - Hide Variable not Possible in Report

You are creating a report with the report wizard. In step 5, you would like to hide a variable, however the Hide checkbox is grayed out.

1. Go to the work center Business Analytics and select the view Design Reports.
2. Click New > Report.
3. Enter all required details in step 1 and click Next.
4. Make the required settings in the next steps and move to step 5.
5. Here, the Hide checkbox is grayed out.

This checkbox can only be used for inherited variables. For example, if you copy a report which is using inherited variables like in the case of key figure groups, such variables can be hidden.

If you want a variable to not be shown in the selection area, you can set the variable setting to No Value Selection in step 4 of the report wizard.

You can also use Fixed Value Selection if you would like to maintain a variable which the business user is not supposed to change.
