2885248 - Basic Import Error - Duplicate person_id_external error

Symptom

When doing a basic import for inactive users to be made active, an error is encountered:

User: [1]Duplicate person_id_external [1]

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Terminate a User in EC - Status in EC: Terminated (Inactive), Status in BizX: inactive
  2. Try to make this user active in BizX (only) via Basic User Import
  3. Encounter the error User: [1]Duplicate person_id_external [1]

Cause

There is currently no scheduled release for this issue. It is being reviewed by our Engineering Team.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, remove the "PERSON_ID_EXTERNAL" column from the import file.
