2885344 - "no server for protocol TCP found" error in Web Dispatcher trace file

Symptom

TCP socket ports were enabled at an SAP NetWeaver ABAP system.

Now, TCP load balancing is being configured as documented at the SAP Help page "TCP Socket Load Balancing".

The following error is observed at the SAP Web Dispatcher trace file, once the configuration has been activated:

*** ERROR => TcpPlugInStartConn: no server for protocol TCP found

While accessing the Message Server instance list page (e.g., "http://<Message Server host>:<Message Server port>/msgserver/text/logon?version=1.3"), the TCP ports of the instances are not listed.

For example:

version 1.3
<SAP server name>_<SID>_00
DIAG     <SAP server name>.example.com   3200      LB=15
RFC       <SAP server name>.example.com   3300
HTTP     <SAP server name>.example.com    8080
HTTPS   <SAP server name>.example.com    4430
