2886730 - Error creating ECR repository when starting Modeler - SAP Data Intelligence

Symptom

  • Launching a Modeler instance through the vSystem UI eventually times out and the associated vflow-* pod shows status CrashLoopBackOff.
  • In the vflow pod logs, the following error is shown:

    Error creating AWS ECR repository 'vora/vflow-node-XXXX': AccessDeniedException: User: arn:aws:sts::<AWS_ID>:assumed-role/<INSTANCE_ROLE_NAME>
    is not authorized to perform: ecr:CreateRepository on resource: arn:aws:ecr:<ZONE>:<AWS_ID>:repository/vora/vflow-node-XXXX
    status code: 400, request id: d97b281d-938c-43db-b905-95fce145a90a
    failed to create image factory
