Symptom
During the column configuration of Enhanced Manage Pending Recruits, the following error is displayed:
The selected fields cannot be used for this column. Refer to documentation for the correct Candidate Fields to use.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Admin Center > Tool Search > Configure Columns for the Manage Pending Recruits
- Add a new line in the setting by selecting the dropdowns Entities and Field
- Save
- The error appears:
The selected fields cannot be used for this column. Refer to documentation for the correct Candidate Fields to use.
Cause
Possible causes:
- Standard names a field not used in Onboarding
- A wrong name is used in Provisioning: EC template (Import/Export mapping field template for EC Integration)
- Custom names are not supported in Onboarding
- An incorrect mapping of a field within a transformation template
Resolution
1. Add/Edit the mapping in the transformation template, configurable via Provisioning > Import/Export mapping field template for EC Integration
For example, JobCode:
<mapping-attribute><source refid="JobCode" multi-valued="false"/><target refid="jobInfo.job-code" variant="" country-code=""/>
<processes><process>onboarding</process><process>offboarding</process></processes>
2. Ensure the names for source & target are correctly maintained as per standard configuration (customer key field, i.e. XYZ_JobCode, is not supported).
3. Change the name in the Onboarding > Data Dictionary > key field (XYZ_JobCode to JobCode) and remap using the field mapping tool.
4. To add the field to the column:
- Go to Admin Center > Tool Search > Manage Data
- In the first field select MPHColumnConfiguration
- In the second, select the drop down to confirm if onboardingCandidate (onboardingCandidate) is available
- If not, follow the instructions in KB article 2792558
