2887153 - Error in phase PREP_INSTALL/SUBMOD_PREP_INSTALL/INIT_SHD Forbidden instance number must not be used

Symptom

  • While performing an upgrade using the Software Update Manager (SUM) an error occurs in phase PREP_INSTALL/SUBMOD_PREP_INSTALL/INITSHD
  • The error message displayed in the SUM GUI is similar to : "Forbidden instance number XX must not be used."
  • In the INITSHD.LOG an entry similar to :
    1 ETQ399 Found usable instance number <XX>.
    4 ETQ399 Starting dialog 'ShadowInstNr' at <DATE>.
    4EETQ399 Dialogue validator 'ShdInstNrVal?idator' failed with 'Forbidden instance number <XX> must not be used.
