2887267 - Error When Previewing Data Source

You are trying to preview a data source and you received the 'Report Cannot Be Opened; Report an Incident' error message.

Other error messages are possible, such as:

Query ABC could not be opened
An exception was raised

• SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Analytics work center.
2. Go to the Design Data Sources work center view.
3. Search for the desired data source.
4. Select it.
5. Click on Preview button.

The data source has too many fields, usually caused by an extensive amount of extension fields.

In such cases, you can remove some extension fields from the data source in order to improve the data source performance or alternatively, you can create a report with all available fields based on this data source and it should work as expected. However, we strongly recommend to select only the required fields to the report view in order to limit the data volume.

Please note: There should not be more than 50 extension fields.
