Symptom

  • Error 632 is reported in the ASE errorlog as a "Fatal Error".
  • The affected process (spid) uses ASE parallel processing which is indicated in the message immediately following Error 632:

Error: 21, Severity: 20, State: 1
WARNING - Fatal Error 632 occurred at Jun 20 2019 3:19PM. Please note the error and time, and contact a user with System Administrator (SA) authorization.
Error: 632, Severity: 20, State: 2
Attempt to move memory with an incorrect length of 749876488. Maximum allowed length is 16384.
Thread (spid=421) initiating parallel primary error processing.
