Symptom

Function module /BODS/RFC_READ_TABLE2 not available in BW/4HANA

When using Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF) for extraction from an Open Hub table, the ADF is relying on the function module /BODS/RFC_READ_TABLE2 that is not available in BW/4HANA systems. It was available in older releases of BW.

The error message from ADF is:

  • CreateFunction /BODS/RFC_READ_TABLE2 with Repository encountered
  • RfcBaseException metadata for function /BODS/RFC_READ_TABLE2 not available:
  • FU_NOT_FOUND: Function module /BODS/RFC_READ_TABLE2 does not exist .
