SAP Support requests a Support User to access SAP Datasphere tenant for troubleshooting purposes.
Environment
SAP Datasphere
Resolution
- Option #1 - Allow SAP support user creation
-
- In the side navigation area, click System → Administration → System Configuration.
OR Product Switch → Analytics. Then System → Administration → System Configuration, if your tenant was provisioned prior to version 2021.03.
- Choose Edit.
- Set the "Allow SAP support user creation" setting to ON.
- Click Save.
- In the side navigation area, click System → Administration → System Configuration.
Note!
-
-
- For seamless planning issues, Option #1 is mandatory.
-
- Option #2 - Create Support User button
-
- Use the "Create Support User" from SAP Datasphere Home Page:
- Since Scoped Role was introduced, make sure to assign a proper Scoped Role to the generated Support User.
The Scoped role should be relevant for the Space assignment and the Activity authorization (Admin/Modeler/Viewer) for analysis.
For Catalog issues, make sure to assign Catalog Administrator role to the generated support user. - Share the generated support user ID with SAP Support team in ticket communication.
An invitation email is sent to Datasphere Support team, who is then responsible to maintain the credential into its respective Datasphere Tenant Logon Depot (see last step in Option #3).
- Use the "Create Support User" from SAP Datasphere Home Page:
Note!
-
-
- Option #2 is exclusive for support ticket handling. For SAP consulting services, refer to Options 1 and 3.
See KBA 3498708 (Internal link only available for SAP employees). - Support Users are relevant even if Datasphere tenant has enabled SSO via custom Idp.
- Option #2 is exclusive for support ticket handling. For SAP consulting services, refer to Options 1 and 3.
-
- Option #3 - Manual user creation
-
- Create a dedicated user for SAP Support by entering an email from your company domain, see SAP Help Portal documentation Creating Users and Assigning Roles
- Assign "DW Administrator" + "Catalog Administrator" + Scoped roles into that user, see SAP Help Portal documentation Role Management
- Maintain the logon data in Logon Depot, see KBA 1773689 - How to add logon credentials.
