Symptom

  • A timeslice error in the module sysxacts_materialize() together with a stack trace is reported in the ASE errorlog when querying the systransactions system table:

timeslice -5001, current process infected at 80e6119c (sysxacts_materialize+0x3a8)

  • The stack trace includes functions:

_thr_slot_offset
sema_post
make_fake
_$o1cexiI0.s__setup_tabsdes
s_setuptables
s_execute

  • An ASTC_SPIN spinlock is left unreleased by a spid with a timeslice error:

  • ASE server shuts down.
