2896909 - Hadoop Connection errors - Data Services

Symptom

  • Create a Hadoop ODBC datastore successfully, but importing tables fail with the following error.
    Error "Cannot open external table. SQL submitted to ODBC data source <> resulted in error. <[Cloudera][Hardy](80) Syntax or semantic analysis error thrown is server while executing query. Error message from server: Error while compiling statement: FAILED: ParseException line 1:5 cannot recognize input near "SHOW" "INDEX" "ON" in DDL statement> The SQL submitted is <SHOW INDEX ON (table)> (BODI-1112347)
  • If the tables are imported, jobs may fail when reading from the Hadoop source table. Error message is in foreign language
    Error "SQL submitted to ODBC data source resulted in error <chinese characters> The SQL submitted is <SELECT column from table>
  • Hadoop connection works successfully from the Linux Server machine.
