Subnode cannot be added or removed in the App Manage Product Hierarchies

The update / removal of a node within a hierarchy is not allowed if the hierarchy is in use . This would include an activated Product Hierarchy and also  Assignment of this hierarchy to sales area ( app Manage Product Hierarchy Assignments)

Structural changes to the Product Hierarchy version once consumed are Restricted .Thus for existing node structure only new products can be assigned and only for few levels the addition of new sub nodes is allowed like root.

 In case the whole Hierarchy node structure is to be adjusted on regular basis, kindly make use of the time dependent Hierarchy versioning option and thus hierarchy assignment to Sales Org. need not be adjusted. i.e. in this case once   you create a new Hierarchy version the restrictions on creating subnodes are removed for that version and the structure can be completely adjusted for that required time period.

 For creating a Hierarchy version you can use the Copy button available hierarchy versions in display mode, and use "To New Hierarchy" option available.
