This article provides information on competency type option available when handling competencies in Job Profile Builder, before 1H 2021 release.

Resolution
On 1H 2021 Release, a new framework to handle competencies was introduced in SuccessFactors, the Center of Capabilities. Now, in all instances using Job Profile Builder, competencies are managed in Center of Capabilities tool in Admin Center, and no longer under Job Profile Builder tools.

Competencies
A competency is the ability for an individual to perform a job that includes set of defined behaviors. They also provide structure guidelines that enable identification, evaluation, and development of behaviors for individual employees. Competencies are developed through time as a result of on-the-job learning and tend to stay the same through time with little change.
You can create competencies that defines individual ability to perform a job that include set of defined behaviors and categories in Center of Capabilities.
Competency Types
Competency Types is a functionality part of the Job Profile Builder framework, and is not available in Center of Capabilities (CofC).
In Center of Capabilities, you have the option to create categories and groups to organize competencies on business units (i.e. Finance, Information Technology, Marketing).
