2898542 - User Custom Column reference fields displaying in dropdown

User Custom Column reference fields can only be displayed in dropdown in user profile on admin side. Customers often have custom columns containing too many reference field values to display in a dropdown, so, therefore have a requirement for a picker to be used instead.

Check reference field (with reference values) in user profile on admin side and reference values appear in dropdown.

To change to picker you need to disable in the dropdown property in Search Selector "Custom Column User Reference":

1. Go to System Config > Configuration > Search Selectors > Custom Field User Reference > Edit
2. Find property: "dropDownEnabled=true"
3. Change to "dropDownEnabled=false"
4. Apply changes.

If you would like to change non-reference custom columns to be displayed as dropdown (they are defaulted to be displayed as picker), you need to edit the same "dropDownEnabled" property in Search Selector "Custom Column User".
