How to hide Payroll Information portlet under My employee file?

Payroll Information portlet gets enabled for all employees who belongs to a country for which portlet has been enabled using "Payroll Configuration".

However, if you wish to hide the portlet from UI under My Employee File, you can do this via below role based permission:

Under "Employee Views", uncheck the view permission for "Payroll". 

This will hide "Payroll Information" portlet.
