Symptom
You see that the start/end dates are taken incorrectly when you have uploaded the appointments using data workbench for CET timezone.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Data Workbench workcenter
- Go to Import view
- Select Insert
- Select Standard Object Appointment
- Select Download Template
- Update the values for Start Date and End Date
Once the data is inserted, you will see that the uploaded time is ahead by two hours in your system despite of correct personalized settings
Cause
Data Workbench only takes UTC as the standard input time and CET is UTC+1. Nevertheless, during summer time in Europe, clocks are advanced by one hour from the time observed in the rest of the year. Typically, European summer time begins at 01:00 UTC/WET (02:00 CET, 03:00 EET) on the last Sunday in March and ends at 01:00 UTC (02:00 WEST, 03:00 CEST, 04:00 EEST) on the last Sunday in October each year.
This results in addition of an extra hour than the actual CET time.
Resolution
This is the designed system behavior and users have to ensure that the time uploaded during European summer time should be entered by reducing 2 hours, so that it reflects the actual time once it is uploaded.
