Symptom
This article shows how to provide write or edit access to contactEmail field or any field for Internal Candidate profile.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP Successfactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
1. Go to Careers > Click "My candidate profile" as an internal candidate
2. Verify that the Email address field is read-only:
Cause
Even there's a write access in the field-permission for internal candidates, as long as the candidate profile field is currently being mapped to succession data model (sm-mapping) then the system behavior is that the field will be read-only since any update should be done in the Employee Profile.
Resolution
If sm-mapping was removed or wasn't configured, then the expectation is that we can edit the field in the candidate profile. If the field needs to be synchronized with Employee Profile via sm-mapping, then any update on the fields should be done to the Employee Profile.
