Symptom

  • An "infected with signal 11" error in the module com__subexctnumetochar() with a stacktrace may be reported in the SAP ASE error log:

Current process (0x1f0010) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address 0x0000000100571488 (com__subexctnumetochar+0x128), siginfo (code, address) = (50, 0x0000000126f18ad9)

  • when an out-of-range numeric/decimal value is set as a parameter of a dynamic prepared statement in a Java program.
  • The stacktrace includes the following functions:

syb_cast
raise_cast_error
subp
subparams
s_setupvar
s_compile
