2901514 - How to transfer direct reports to next manager on leaving position - Employee Central

The Manager A is terminated, but there is another incumbent (B) in Manager A's position, so how can we transfer managerA's direct reports to B.

1. Open Manager A's employee file > Take Action > Termination > select termination date and termination reason > scroll down to bottom of page >Transfer Direct Reports

2. There are three values regarding "Transfer Direct Reports", but there is no option that can transfer directs to next manager on leaving position.

1. Position Management Settings > Hierarchy Adaptation > "Reassign Direct Reports According to Position Hierarchy on Termination Screen" is selected as "no" or "Yes - Optional".

2. Position type is not used in the system.

1. Set "Reassign Direct Reports According to Position Hierarchy on Termination Screen" > Yes - Always.

2. Set position management settings > General > Use Position Types > Yes

3. Configure position types from manage data, there are two default values RP and SP, you can also create new position type, for example "custom position 1" and "custom position 2"...

   Here select SP and maintain "To whom shall the direct reports report if the manager leaves the position?" as "To next manager on leaving position if available"

4. Configure this position type to target position.

5. Then when you terminate the Manager A, the direct reports will be transferred to B if available.
