Symptom
After a backup executed via BRTOOLS with compression enabled (compress=yes), the original Oracle datafiles end up compressed instead of the target files.
The BRTOOLS log shows as if the files were correctly created:
BR0201I Compressing /oracle/<SID>/sapdata1/sr1_1/sr1.data1
BR0203I to /<backup_path>/sr1.data1.Z ...
#FILE..... /oracle/<SID>/sapdata1/sr1_1/sr1.data1
#SAVED.... /<backup_path>/sr1.data1.Z #1/14 inf:1 0
However, the actual DB file was compressed:
host:ora<sid> 1> ls -ltr /oracle/<SID>/sapdata1/sr1_1
-rw-r ----- 1 <user> <group> <size> <date> sr3.data30.gz
