Symptom
You want to check the Customer Part Number used in Sales Order via the Sales Order Volume Report, and you observe that the Customer Part Number is not appearing as expected in the report.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign.
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Business Analytics work center.
- Go to the Design Reports view.
- Search for: Sales Order Volume Report.
- Run the report.
- Add the Sales Orders and Customer Part Number as new Row Fields.
- You can see that no Customer Part Number is appearing.
Cause
The Sales Order Volume report fetches the Customer Part Number from Product Buyer ID (Account) field of item node in Sales Order. This information is maintained in Product master data for the specific Account.
Since the Part Number details were not available for the item as it was not present in Product Master data during Sales Order item creation, the data is not getting displayed in the report.
Resolution
The value appears in the report, when in the Product master data and in the Account, the value matches with the ones in Sales Order.
Then, it's necessary to have an Account in Product Master data with a Customer Partner Number, and this Account and Product need to be used in the Sales Order.
It's also important to observe when the Sales Order is created, and when the information was added in the Account. The change in master data should be done before the creation of a Sales Order.
So, the report will show the correct information.
