2905636 - Error in uploading excel file in SAP GUI for java

Symptom

  • When uploading excel file .xls or .xlsx using SAP GUI for Java, you see error "Error in upload/download". This works without any error in SAP GUI for Windows.
  • You are using function module ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE or TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP in your program to upload excel data.
