Symptom

A new field category was introduced in the External Time Data to default breaks or attendance.

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Sheet

Reproducing the Issue

With 2005 release, it's now possible to categorize Attendance/Break, in External Time Data in Clock Time scenarios. A new field named 'Category' is introduced in External Time Data.

NOTE: The field 'Category' is relevant only if the 'Time Type' field is empty.

Resolution

  1. The Time Profile assigned to the employee should have the followed fields filled: 'Main Break Time Type' & 'Default Import Attendance Time Type'.

          2. Create External Time Data by keeping the 'Time Type' empty, select 'Category' as 'Attendance'.

3. Similarly, create another External Time Data with Category as 'Break'.

4. The External Time Data is processed instantaneously and the Attendance & Break are recorded for the employee using the 'Main Break Time Type' & 'Default Import Attendance Time Type' from the time profile.
