2908568 - Employee Time Recording From Previous Year With Status In Approval Shall be Removed

It is not possible to delete employee time postings from previous years with status: In Approval

Reproducing the Issue on the Time Administration work center:

1. Go to the Time Administration work center
2. Select Employees sub view
3. Find an employee
4. Click on Edit
5. Go to the Employee Times tab
6. Select the relevant date range
7. Filter for status In Approval

Reproducing the issue on the Project Management work center:

1. Navigate to Project Management work center
2. Choose the Approvals view
3. Choose the Time Recordings subview
4. As project manager, try to approve or reject the time recordings against a project.
5. Select Save
6. Error: Financial accounting is closed on DD.MM.YYYY. Change not permitted; close screen. Accounting-relevant data would also be changed. Check whether you can enter time confirmation without accounting attributes (where  DD.MM.YYYY represents the date)

It is advisable to approve times in a timely fashion, as the times are awaiting an action from the employee’s manager or project manager,  and the times could have an impact on project times, employee time account balance etc..

It is not possible to remove the times, neither in the UI nor in the backend. But it is possible to filter out the very old In Approval times on the Time Admin > Employee Time Records view.

1. Go to the Time Administration work center
2. Go to the Employee Time Records sub view
3. Select category Pending Approval from the Employee Time Recording drop down list
4. Open Advanced Filter by clicking on the filter icon
5. Select Free Selection in the Time Period Selection drop down list
6. Save Query

Once the parameters are set (as per your requirements), the filter can be saved as a query and defaulted as the query to be launched on opening the view.

Similar advanced filtering is generally available on other views, including Approvals: Time Recordings view on the Project Management work center.

However, the approval for non-project time recordings does not allow this filtering, except at column level where a pattern for a date or a year can be set, showing only times In Approval for that specific date/year pattern.
