2908681 - Exception in Analysis Office - Incompatible Call Rejected

An exception occurs in Analysis Office.

When checking the error messages in the dialog, they look like the following:

SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office

The error occurs because the function module mentioned in the error message is blocklisted in the system, as explained in SAP note 2295840.

Create an case to SAP by selecting the component CA-EPT-TAS to check why the function module is blocked.

The workaround is to manually allowlist the function module mentioned in the error message (e.g. BICS_PROV_GET_INITIAL_STATE, BICS_PROV_SET_STATE, etc). More information can be found in SAP notes below:
