2908887 - Error: "Assignment Not Valid; Target Object Only Valid From DD.MM.YYYY to DD.MM.YYYY" While Migrating Personnel Administration Data

During migration of personnel administration data, the error message: "Assignment not valid; target object only valid from DD.MM.YYYY to DD.MM.YYYY" is thrown.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Select the Overview.
3. Search for the Activity Migration Of Employee Data.
4. Select Open.
5. Select the link Migrate personnel administration data using migration tool.
6. Select the file and Execute Migration Step by Step.

There could be two possible causes for this error:

Cause 1: The hire date of the employee is not within the validity period of the organizational unit to which the employee is assigned.

For example: The employee hire date is: 01.01.2020 and the org unit is valid from: 01.03.2020.

Cause 2: The Job ID assigned to the employee in the migration template is set to a limited value instead of an unlimited value.

Solution for cause 1: Ensure that the validity of the organizational unit assigned to the employee covers or includes the employee's hire date.

Solution for cause 2: Ensure that the validity of the Job ID matches the validity of the employee, or vice versa.
