Symptom
You have set up the user's access rights with no write access, only read access, to work center view Sets of Books and Assigned Companies. Nevertheless, the user is still able to make changes to Open and Close Periods.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign.
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Application and User Management work center.
- Go to Business Users view.
- Search for the related user and click Edit -> Access Rights.
- Go to Access Restrictions tab.
- Find work center view ID FIN_COMPANIES (Sets of Books and Assigned Companies).
You see the Write Access is set to 'No Access'. Nevertheless, the user is able to make changes to Open and Close Periods.
Cause
The write access restriction is set to FIN_COMPANIES only. The Work center views FIN_CLOSINGCOCKPITGL (Closing Cockpit) and FIN_COMPANIES (Sets of books and assigned companies) are dependent, if you restrict access for FIN_COMPANIES but not for FIN_CLOSINGCOCKPITGL, then this will over-ride the first access restriction, as it's the same screen under both views.
Resolution
if you wish to restrict the access to Open and Close Periods, you also need to set the access restriction to work center view FIN_CLOSINGCOCKPITGL.
