2909755 - Filter on Text Field Does Not Work

You are trying to use a search condition between asterisks to filter on a 'TEXT' field but the report displays 'No Data Available To Display' message or you cannot see those expected values.

• SAP Cloud for Customer
• SAP Business ByDesign 

1. Go to the Business Analytics work center.
2. Go to the Design Reports work center view.
3. Search for the concerned report ID or name.
4. Open it.
5. In the Report Selection, type in the data you are looking for between asterisk (e.g. *test*) for the concerned characteristic.
6. Refresh it.
7. You cannot see expected values but you can see the message 'No Report Data Available To Display'. 

The system currently does not support to filter on fields of 'TEXT' type via the Report Selection.

To check if the field which has been used is of 'TEXT' type, follow these steps below:

1. Go to the Business Analytics work center.
2. Go to the Design Data Source work center view.
3. Search for the concerned data source ID or name.
4. Select it.
5. Click on the magnifying glass on the right.
6. Search for the concerned characteristic.
7. You can see the field type on the 'Characteristic Type' column. 

Additionally, if you would like to have this functionality available in a future release, we would advise you to address it as a new suggestion in our SAP Customer Influence. The Customer Influence site allows customers to log Improvement Requests themselves and have the ability to work directly with our technology and development group.
