Symptom

  • When performing a data volume reclaim on an SAP HANA system, the process completes prematurely, not reaching the target fragmentation rate.
  • In the indexserver trace, you observe an entry like this:
    [0]{0}[0/0] 0000-00-00 00:00:00.000000 w PhysicalPageAcce DataVolumePartitionImpl.cpp : DVolPart::reclaim: Stop marking and moving due to intensive parallel workload, or unfavourable distribution of page sizes. Left reclaim boundary reached 0 times; could not move right reclaim boundary 5 times.
